In this scene, Ghost Dog sits alone in a park eating a chocolate ice-cream and feeding pigeons. He gazes over at a group of five men, taking turns rapping over taped music. After several rounds the men walk off, greeting Ghost Dog with respect as they pass. Thereafter, Ghost Dog is gazed at intensely by a dog before speaking with a young girl, who sits next to him to discuss books. Ghost Dog gives her a copy of Rash?mon. They then walk to the ice-cream truck to speak with Ghost Dog’s best friend Raymond. Despite not sharing a language, the two manage to communicate. It ends with Ghost Dog having to leave to take care of ‘business’.
