In a post-nuclear apocalyptic future, the remnants of humanity are locked in a war with the machines. The machines send back an advanced Terminator to kill John Conner, a leader of the human rebellion, and thus crush their opposition before it begins. The humans somehow learn of this plan, and then somehow manage to capture and reprogrammed an older Terminator robot — Series 800, Cyberdyne Systems Terminator, Model 101, often called T800 — which they send back in time to protect Conner.
After travelling through time, T800 arrives in 1995, stark naked and proceeds into a nearby bar, much to the amusement of its tough clientele. Approaching a man of similar stature, T800 announces: ‘I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle’. The man declines the machine’s request by putting a cigar out on T800’s chest. After a quickly resolved bout of bar-room violence, T800 has the man’s clothes, boots and motorcycle. Before he can ride away, the bartender bursts out and fires a shotgun into the air proclaiming: ‘I can’t let you leave with the man’s wheels, son’. To a soundtrack of ‘Bad to the Bone’, T800 turns and looks at the bartender — the still frame recorded here — before dismounting and calmly taking the bartender’s shotgun and sunglasses before riding of into the night.
