In what could be described as an action movie without any action, The Limits of Control centres on a lone-wolf assassin carrying out a job in Spain. The Lone Man receives cryptic, seemingly irrelevant and often unstated instructions from a series of eccentric characters. After receiving a fragment of a code, the Lone Man goes to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and stares intently a one specific painting, a portrait of a nude. The still-frame is captured in this moment. After leaving the gallery, the Lone Man returns to his hotel to find a naked woman pointing a gun at him.
